West Motorsport’s LMX’s are being sold as they come off the production line. Car #2 has been sold to Richard Granholm of Battery World Corp in Vancouver, Canada, while Car #4 is going to the UK. Car #3 will be retained in Australia for inclusion in the 2017 Sports Racer Series so that at least two local LMX’s will be racing this year.
Richard Granholm is an experienced and enthusiastic North American sports racer and is adding the West LMX to his existing Firman and has even build a dedicated double decker trailer to transport them both to the track. The paint job of his LMX is spectacular and shown at right finished off in West’s wholly owned research and development facility in Thailand.
Unlike the Formula 1000 regulations in Australia, the American car is fitted out with the ultimate configuration including a fully worked Kawasaki ZX14R (1441cc new generation) engine prepared especially for his car. Otherwise all of the upgrade options and innovations are installed, such as the custom tuned Motec ECU, scientific suspension, custom 3 stage dry oil sump, integrated fuel cell, composite fibre body, PFC callipers and wind tunnel modelled aerodynamics. It will be exciting to see the upper performance capabilities of the LMX in this format.
Battery World is no stranger to motorsport, as a quick look at their home page shows. A foremost retailer of one of the most expansive assortment of battery products for work or household needs in North America, guaranteeing satisfaction, friendly service, quick delivery and convenient hours. Being added this year will be their great online shopping experience. This is the sort of customer appreciated by West and Battery World will become a source of components and parts for the LMX in Canada.
