THE CARS
The WX10 started on paper in 2006, with the first production car available in December 2008. Improvements were made over the previous model WR1000 in all major areas: drivetrain, aerodynamics, weight, safety, reliability and ease of maintenance. The bodywork is completely redesigned to be more aerodynamic and with less drag than the previous model. West now offers more powerplant choices than anyone - you can have your car built with a Honda CBR1000, Suzuki GSXR or Kawasaki ZX10R. Downforce is greatly increased through a completely redesigned rear wing, tunnel extractor and front diffuser - all matched to the extremely successful tunnel floor system from the WR1000. All components were designed in CAD (computer aided design) and the aerodynamic performance of the tunnel, wing, diffuser and bodywork was verified with advanced CFD testing
Over 50 additional improvements have been made to the WX10, yet at the same time, West has kept the proven elements from the previous model, ultimately giving you a proven design package with the latest advances in aerodynamics, performance and power! And the results are starting to speak for themselves! The WX10 has only participated in several races to date, yet has run lap times faster than anything in its class, handily beating the Elan DP02, Stohr WF1, Radical Prosport or SR3 (all more expensive cars) and winning its first National SCCA DSR event in only its second outing!
A key benefit of the West WX10 is that it can run in more venues than any other sportsracer: IMSA Lites L2 (exclusively), SCCA National and Regional DSR, SCCA National and Regional CSR, NASA, PBOC, track day events and more! The WX10 is the only car that allows you to run an IMSA Lites event one weekend, and then competitively run an SCCA or other club racing event the next, with little effort. The WX10 was specifically designed to be easy to drive for the novice, yet challenging for the advanced or semi-pro driver. WEST WX10-T
The WX10 will soon be offered as an all-electric sportsracer, the WX10-T. Offering similar performance to the WX10, producing 200hp and 165 foot pounds of torque starting at 1 MPH! Multiple battery options will be available with the goal of allowing 30+ full race driving minutes per charge. And battery recharges take approximately 1.5 hours. It's an incredible way to get out on the track and save the planet at the same time! WEST WR1000
West’s previous generation sportsracer - the WR1000 - has had tremendous success in club racing and semi-professional series such as IMSA Lites. With over 75 cars built and thousands of miles on the race track, the WR1000 has proven to be a solid performer. Still competitive in regional or national SCCA events as well as IMSA Lites, the WR1000 is a great value!
